WrestleMania 42 Saturday (2026) Review: A Marathon Night Of Big Matches

This WWE WrestleMania 42 Saturday (2026) review covers a live wrestling night, not a scripted film, so we judge it on card quality, star power and pacing. The Saturday show runs about 235 minutes and puts Cody Rhodes against Randy Orton in its headline match. It is a big, loud action and sport spectacle that works best for people who already follow the product.

WWE WrestleMania 42 Saturday Review: The Story So Far (No Spoilers)

The core story is simple. Cody Rhodes holds the Undisputed WWE Title and faces longtime friend Randy Orton, and the tagline, "The American Nightmare vs. The Viper," sells the clash neatly. Friendship turned rivalry is an old wrestling hook, but it still gives the main event real weight.

The Saturday listings also promise CM Punk against Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship. Women's World Champion Stephanie Vaquer is set to defend against Liv Morgan, and more matches fill out the night. Note that sources differ on the exact card, and an editor's note also mentions Jade Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley, which we could not confirm for Saturday.

There is no plot to spoil here, and we will not give away any results. If you want the official details, the IMDb page for WrestleMania 42 is a good starting point, though it may not be specific to the Saturday card.

What Works in WrestleMania 42 Saturday

The biggest strength is the lineup. A card that mixes Rhodes, Orton, Punk and Reigns gives casual viewers instantly recognizable names, and the stakes are easy to grasp. You do not need years of homework to understand why a title match between two friends matters.

A Stacked Card

The women's division gets a prominent place, with a world title match headlining its side of the show. Variety matters over nearly four hours, and different match styles keep the night from feeling like one long brawl. As an action-driven live event, it offers plenty of spectacle.

Built-In Drama

Wrestling lives on personal history, and this card is full of it. The Rhodes and Orton story gives the evening an emotional spine. If you like sports with a theatrical streak, browse our sport movie reviews for similar picks.

WrestleMania 42 Saturday Cast and Performances

The WrestleMania 42 Saturday cast is made up of real performers playing heightened versions of themselves. Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton lead the billing, and their contrast gives the headline bout its tension. Rhodes is the earnest champion, while Orton is the cold, patient veteran.

Stephanie Vaquer and Liv Morgan, played in the listings by Gionna Daddio under the Morgan name, carry the women's world title story. AJ Lee and Becky Lynch are also credited, which adds more name value. We cannot judge individual matches without spoiling them, but the roster is the main reason to tune in.

Where WrestleMania 42 Saturday Stumbles

The obvious issue is length. At roughly 235 minutes, the show asks for a serious time commitment, and even great cards can sag in the middle. Newcomers may also struggle with the backstory behind certain rivalries.

There is also confusion around the listing itself. Catalogues disagree on whether this is a separate Saturday entry, and details such as the director, writers and age rating are unclear. Critic coverage is thin, and the audience score we found is a modest 6 out of 10 from 31 votes.

Is WrestleMania 42 Saturday Worth Watching?

Yes, if you are a wrestling fan or want a big communal spectacle, it is worth watching. The headline match and the stacked supporting card give you enough reasons to commit, even with the long runtime.

If you want a tight story with a clear beginning and end, it will feel baggy. We give it a middling but solid 6 out of 10, mainly because the card promises a lot while the format demands patience. The WrestleMania 42 Saturday release date is April 18, 2026, in the United States.
