Jetlee (2026) Review: A Mid-Air Chase Packed With Gags

This Jetlee review starts with a correction to the buzz around the film. Jetlee is not about a flight attendant with a heroic name. The title is a pun, and the film is a Telugu action comedy from director Ritesh Rana that turns a single flight into a pressure cooker.

Critics have been split, and the film opened to mixed reviews. Here is what works, what doesn't, and whether it deserves your evening.

Jetlee Review: The Story So Far (No Spoilers)

The Jetlee plot begins in Dubai. A CBI agent takes custody of a notorious criminal and boards a flight to Kochi, India, to extradite him. Before long, rival groups make moves to kill the prisoner at 30,000 feet.

In the middle of this stands a man with amnesia, played by Satya. He has no idea who he is, yet the chaos drags him in anyway. That gives the film its comic engine: a confused everyman in a very dangerous cabin.

The setup is simple and easy to follow. The plane keeps the action contained, and the film bills itself as a comedy thriller. It is a fun hook for fans of action movie reviews who like their stunts served with jokes.

What Works in Jetlee

The best asset is the tonal mix. Gulte praised Satya for balancing seriousness and comedy, and that blend gives the film its personality. His memory-loss predicament lets the script play scenes both straight and silly.

The supporting comedians help too. 123Telugu singled out Vennela Kishore and Viva Harsha as sources of humour, which suits a film that leans on banter between bursts of action.

The score also earns a mention. Gulte liked Kaala Bhairava's background music, and a loud, energetic soundtrack suits a story this restless.

• A contained, high-concept setting

• A lead who sells both laughs and tension

• Comic relief from the supporting cast

Jetlee Cast and Performances

The Jetlee cast is led by Satya, who plays Dr. Veda Vyas, billed with the tag "Not JetLee." Rhea Singha plays CBI Agent Shivani Roy, the officer escorting the prisoner. Ajay plays Dharmesh Prajapathi, and Gulte singled out his menace as the villain.

Harsha Chemudu plays Pilot Captain Kotappa Konda, known as KK, while Kabir Duhan Singh plays Jackie. Vennela Kishore also appears, though sources disagree on his exact role.

Standouts

Satya carries the film and gets the best of the comic and dramatic beats. Ajay provides a credible threat, which matters in a comedy that needs some real danger to keep the stakes alive.

Where Jetlee Stumbles

The main complaint is the script. One reviewer called the writing flimsy and the look over-the-top, and Rotten Tomatoes critic Carla Hay was harsher still, calling it a terrible action comedy that plays like jet lag.

That fits a pattern in this kind of film. When jokes land unevenly, the plot logic starts to show its cracks, and a flight setting can feel repetitive if the story has little new to offer.

Numbers are also mixed. Tollybo gave the film 2 out of 5 and described it as a box office flop. Audience scores vary widely: IMDb sits at 7.5 from 79 votes, while TMDB shows 4.3 from only five ratings. Both samples are tiny, so treat them with caution.

Is Jetlee Worth Watching?

It is worth a look if you enjoy loud, goofy Telugu entertainers, but it is not a must-see. The concept is fun, the lead has charm, and the comedy supporting cast gives it energy. The weak script and mixed critical response hold it back.

The film released on 1 May 2026, and runtime listings range from about 132 to 135 minutes depending on the source. You can read more background on the Jetlee Wikipedia page. If you prefer something more grounded, our Kartavya review covers a more serious cop story.

If your taste runs to comedy movie reviews and you can forgive a messy plot, this Jetlee review lands on a cautious yes. Go in expecting silliness, not polish.
